Our Company

Steady Ground for Those Who Have Earned It

Lanna Capital was founded to serve a generation of adults whose financial questions are serious, whose time is their own, and who deserve education that meets them with respect.

Who We Are

A Quiet Corner for Serious Questions

Lanna Capital was established in Chiang Mai in 2014 by a small team of financial educators who had spent many years working within Thailand's institutional investment world — and who noticed, repeatedly, that the adults who needed clear financial information the most were the ones least well-served by the industry as it stood. Brochures, sales-driven presentations, and complex product launches were everywhere. Patient, structured, independent education was not.

The name Lanna refers to the ancient northern Thai kingdom whose culture has long been associated with craftsmanship, patience, and the unhurried dignity of doing things well. That spirit shaped how we designed our programmes. Nothing here is rushed. Each course is built for learners who have accumulated real savings, real responsibilities, and real questions — and who are no longer interested in products dressed up as education.

We operate from a small office on Nimmanhaemin Road and keep our course groups deliberately small. Our programmes are structured around the Thai financial market and its instruments — mutual funds, provident funds, SSF and RMF products, and longer-term inheritance and stewardship matters. All material is delivered in English, and all sessions are conducted in an open, conversational format where questions are never an interruption.

Our mission is simply this: to give adults 40 and above the financial vocabulary and framework they need to think clearly about the second half of their financial lives — with honesty, without pressure, and with deep respect for where each learner currently stands.

Standards We Hold

How We Approach Our Work

Independence

Lanna Capital does not sell financial products. We have no commission relationships and receive no referral fees. Our income comes from course fees alone, which means our content can remain genuinely neutral.

Curriculum Integrity

All course materials are reviewed annually and updated to reflect changes in Thai financial regulation, fund categories, and tax treatment. We use only primary sources and official SEC Thailand documentation.

Data & Privacy

Participant information is held in confidence. Worksheets and personal documents completed during programmes belong to the participant and are never shared or retained without written consent.

Small Group Sizes

Each session accommodates a maximum of eight participants. This is not a constraint of space — it is a deliberate choice that allows every person in the room to ask questions and receive considered responses.

Measured Language

We do not use pressure language, urgency framing, or promotional claims. Every statement made in our materials can be supported by publicly available data or SEC-regulated disclosures.

Professional Development

Our educators maintain ongoing professional development in Thai financial regulation and adult education methodology. We review our programmes formally each year against participant feedback and market changes.

Our Expertise

Financial Education Grounded in the Thai Market

Understanding the Thai mutual fund landscape — from the mechanics of an equity fund to the tax distinctions between SSF and RMF products — requires both technical knowledge and the patience to explain clearly. At Lanna Capital, our educators have spent careers in this field. The courses we offer reflect that depth without unnecessary jargon.

Adults in their 40s, 50s, and beyond bring a different kind of attention to financial learning. They ask better questions. They think about timelines in terms of years lived, not just years remaining. Our programmes are designed for exactly that quality of engagement. We move at a pace that allows understanding to develop properly, not just information to be transferred.

From Chiang Mai, we serve participants from across northern Thailand and beyond. Many are expatriates or returning Thais who have accumulated assets in multiple contexts and need a structured way to think about how those pieces fit together. Others are lifelong Chiang Mai residents who have built savings through business or employment and are now thinking more carefully about how to manage them for the long term.
